Custom Category Search Filter

Parts Warehouse BigCommerce Theme comes with a custom category search filter. When activated the search filter allows you add one primary category in the theme styles settings and all subcategories on the same hierarchy will display in the drop downs. The primary category will not appear in the side navigation or header navigation when the user adds it to the customizer settings. You can choose between 3 and 4 levels. 

Steps to create

1. Setup your desired category structure in the categories section of the BigCommerce control panel. 

2. Go to Themes > Customize 

3. Go to Theme Styles > Main Navigation

4. Check the Show Search Filter box and enter the name of your top level category in the Search Category Name

5. Choose to show either 3 or 4 levels in the Search Dropdown Selector

6. Click Publish and View Store to check out your new Custom Search Filter!  

How to edit the Text and Labels

At Lone Star Templates we've done our best to make the filter beneficial to all merchants no matter what you are selling. You can edit the text and labels of the filter by making a copy of the base theme and editing the theme language file.
